Company details
S.I.F.RA. EST S.p.a., with more than 100 employees and its goods sold in 33 countries world-wide, is leader in the production of flat and tubular films, tubes, connectors and flexible containers in PVC (Siflex®, Siflat®, Siftube® e Siflex Pack®) as well as in PVC-FREE (Magiflex® films, tubes and bags) addressed to the Pharma and Medical Industries .
HISTORY
1988 both, the growing use of PVC flexible containers addressed to the i.v. and dialysis solution industry as well as a geographic region that will soon become the epicenter of the Eastward-oriented European Union, attracted the interest of a family-owned Pharmaceutical Group that since the ´30s was undisputed Italian leader in the i.v. solution industry. This Group, being the founding member, decided to establish S.I.F.RA. EST S.p.a. (Società Italiana Farmaceutici Ravizza Est S.p.a.) in Trieste.
1989, on a surface of 12.000 m², located in Via Caboto 19/8, S.I.F.RA. EST S.p.a. started the construction of a 8.000 m² production facility addressed to the production and transformation of non-toxic PVC for medical use.
1992 the plant was already producing granules, tubular films, tubes and flexible bags made of PVC with the brand names Siflex®, Siflat®, Siftube® and Siflex Pack®.
1993-2000 the overall production capacity increased.
2001 the first fully-automatic high-speed PVC bag maker (brand Colpitt) was installed.
2001-2012 four more machines were installed in this period bringing the overall annual production to a stunning 60,0 million units.
2009 following an international spirit, SIFRA EST PRODUTOS PLASTICOS Ltda. in Brasil (SEPP) was created for the production and sale of pharmaceutical flexible PVC containers in South America. Raw-materials are imported from Italy and finished in Brasil.
2013 following the installation of a fully-automatic high-speed bag-maker (brand Plümat) and of a co-extrusion water-cooled quenching line, launch of a new PVC-FREE product line called Magiflex® consisting of steam-sterilizable flat and tubular films, tubes, and flexible containers representing the new frontier of large volume parenterals and injectable antibiotics. Here, as much as for PVC products, S.I.F.RA. EST S.p.a. has a totally vertically-integrated production that allows to control the process and guarantees an incredible quality-price ratio.
S.I.F.RA. EST S.p.a. has always believed in “Quality” as an essential feature of its products and since 1992 has been awarded with the ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 by TÜV.
R&D is another foundation of its mission. This activity is carried out in its own Lab (recognized as “Highly Qualified Lab” by the Regional Government of Fruli Venezia Giulia) by a staff of researchers in co-operation with the University of Trieste and the Area Science Park. Such activity, also co-sponsored by MIUR (Italian Industry, University and Research Ministry), has given birth to several studies considered “relevant” by the International scientific community.
Last but not least, the “Quality/Price ratio” of S.I.F.RA. EST’s products is the third pillar of its philosophy. The Company sells all over the world high-quality products for very affordable prices. “Quality” and “Price” are for us complementary and not, as too often happens, conflicting elements.
